Dorothy L. Edmonds (1923-2010) Dorothy Louise Sharp Edmonds (87) died peacefully Friday, October 15, in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm, Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Graveside Services will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Monday, October 25 at 10:00am. Dorothy lived in El Paso for more than 30 years before moving to Fort Worth in 2009 to be with her family. She had been a long-time member of St. Francis-on-the-Hill Episcopal Church and volunteered in their bookstore and Logos program. She had also been a member of First Baptist Church in El Paso. Dorothy was born February 20, 1923, in Muskogee, OK, to Thomas Ewing and Willie Louise Vannatta Sharp and graduated from Muskogee Central High School. She survived a battle with cancer at the age of 19. She was married to Maj. Robert E. Edmonds (Ret.) for 43 years until his death in 1994. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Thomas E. Sharp, Jr.), her husband, and two great-grandsons. She is survived by her daughter Martha Ann and husband, Walter S. Fagley III; four grandchildren, Stephanie A. Corvin (Jon), Robert L. Davis (Cheryl), Valerie L. Dyke (Douglas), and W. Stone Thomas Fagley IV (Jennifer); and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to her favorite charity to which she was a long-time contributor: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
