Dora M. Vargas

Dora Maria Vargas, 77, entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2022 in San Elizario, Texas. She was welcomed into God's embrace peacefully at home surrounded by her children and granddaughters. Dora is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sixto and Consuelo Tellez; her husband, Alfredo C. Vargas. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Montoya (Bernardo) and her legacy continues through her son, Alfredo Lorenzo Vargas; daughter, Lynda Marie Vargas; granddaughters, Alexis Ann Tellez and April Lizabeth Vargas. Ms. Dora, as she was fondly known, served the San Elizario Independent School District for 42 years where she helped foster the love of learning. Her family was honored to share their loving mother and grandmother, who had the most giving heart and creative mind, with countless students.

 

A gathering will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM with a rosary starting at 9:30 AM and a mass starting at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 8, 2022 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church, 611 Avenida De San Lorenzo, Clint, Texas 79836. A graveside will follow at 12:30 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.

 

In lieu of flowers, her family is collecting new hats, caps, and headscarves to donate in her honor to the Texas Oncology- El Paso Cancer Treatment Center Joe Battle. May she rest peacefully and continue to guide us all.
