Dominick Richard Costanzo

January 9, 1919 — February 3, 2012

Dominick R. Costanzo, age 93, of El Paso, TX, a retired educator for the Monroe, CT Public Schools entered the kingdom of the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on January 9, 1919 to Antonio Costanzo and Serafina D’Apice Costanzo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Kretvix Costanzo, his parents and brothers: Arthur, Ray, Joseph, Nicholas, Pat, half-brother Anthony, and half-sister Catherine. He is survived by two daughters: Sharon Zozzaro and Pauline M. Costanzo of El Paso; grandchildren: Thomas Zozzaro (Ivy) of El Paso, Paula Smith (Paul) of New York, and Sara Zozzaro of El Paso; great-grandchildren: Chase, Reese, Destiny, Jon, Stacie, Luke, Jake, brother Louis, and sister Suzanne of Florida, and sister Pauline of Connecticut, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a veteran of World War II (U.S. Army) serving with the 785th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Special thank you to Hospice of El Paso, as well as Benjamin Giron and his nurses at the Lighthouse Home for taking care of Dad during his final days. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with Vigil beginning at 7:00pm, Monday, February 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Queen of Peace Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
