Domingo I. Gutierrez

March 15, 1942 — June 22, 2011

Domingo Gutierrez Jr., was born in Del Rio, Texas and raised in Sonora, Texas where he attended Elliot Elementary, Sonora Junior High and Sonora High School. After graduating in 1962 he enrolled in Lamar Tech where he received his Electronic Training. He began his very strong work ethic at an early age working for the local flower shop and ranchers as well as in the strawberry fields in the Northern States. During his school years at Sonora he was a star linesman and contributed greatly to successful seasons for the Sonora Broncos. He joined the US Army in 1963 where he served and trained as an Electronics Specialist in Formosa. He earned and Electronics and Microwave Radio Diploma from the US Army and after his honorable discharge he returned to El Paso where he continued with his education. He was employed by Texas Instruments for 18 years as a Customer Representative then later joined Hewlett Packard for another 10 years as Customer Engineer. Since 2000 he was the successful owner of Office Solutions in the Greater El Paso Area. He was a member of St Raphael Parish. Domingo is survived by his loving wife Olivia of 43 years, his daughters; Lisa, Annette and son Rudy. He is also survived by his mother, Maria, brothers, Robert and Oscar Gutierrez and sisters Mary Maes and Gloria Badillo, as well as his extended family. Domingo has a huge heart, devoting himself to his family and friends and displayed it by his cooking. He was also a doting grandfather figure to one of the most recent additions to the family, Baby Dane. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Sunday June 26, 2011 with a Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East 750 N. Carolina Dr.. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am Monday, June 27, 2011 at St. Raphael Parish. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
