Dolores F. Ruiz

Dolores Flores Ruiz was called home to rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday July 25, 2021. She was born in El Paso, Texas on June 23, 1934. As fate would have it, as children, she would meet who would later become her future groom and lifelong husband Raul in 1946. Both unaware, the love bug would strike 10 years later when they began dating in 1956 and finally getting married in 1960, a lifelong friendship and love that lasted over 74 years. Dolores graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. She served her community in one of the noblest professions on earth: Elementary School Educator from 1975 until 1986. During her career as a teacher, she had another full-time job raising four children and managing a household with all the special moments and issues that four children and a husband can offer. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Raul M. Ruiz, “Cora” as they called each other. Dolores is survived by daughter Elvira Ruiz Martinez (husband Hector Martinez), sons Raul Flores Ruiz (wife Sandra Ruiz), Carlos Flores Ruiz and Agustin Flores Ruiz (wife Lidia Ruiz), 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was strong willed and fought for every breath she drew, but finally accepted the peaceful rest offered by our Heavenly Father. Dolores was a faithful servant to our loving Redeemer Jesus Christ and a dedicated mother to her family. Mama-Goodbye-Until He returns! Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 02, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, August 03, 2021 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 3729 Hueco Ave. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
