Dolores L. Jaso, affectionately known as Lola, departed our world peacefully on Friday, January 31st, 2025, just shy of her 97th birthday.
Born in Morenci, Arizona, Dolores later relocated to Smeltertown, where she met the love of her life, Narciso. They married in December 1956 and eventually moved to Northeast El Paso, where they built their home and raised their three children.
Lola was a lively, warm, loving, feisty, and strong beautiful soul. She had a deep love for her turtles, plants, and flowers, taking great pride in her yard. Her beloved dog, Shadow, was her constant companion. Lola's passion for music, especially Mariachi, singing, and dancing, was evident even in her last days. She served her Lord in the church choir at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she was a cherished community member for many years.
Our Lola loved to cook as well. Every Saturday she would host her family for lunch where she would make a feast of her famous roast with mashed potatoes and gravy or sometimes, she’d surprise us with flautas, sopita, and homemade fries.
Lola was a very stylish lady. She loved to go shopping and never missed an opportunity to get dressed up in a skirt and heels.
Lola had a presence like no one else. You could feel her warmth when she entered a room. Lola was fiercely loyal, loving, caring, and yet protective and strong.
Lola loved her Dr. Pepper and peanut M&Ms almost as much as she loved her pan dulce y café. She enjoyed crocheting and drawing flowers, but more than anything, Lola loves her beloved Lord Jesus, His Holy Mother Mary, and her family.
Lola is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Narciso, and her sister-in-law whom she loved as her sister, Encarnacion.
Lola is survived by her eldest son, George (Pat), her only daughter, Letty (Ruben), and her youngest son, Paul (Gloria). Lola has 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher, Lisa (Michael), Amanda (Adrian), Brittany (Alfredo), Samantha, and Letty (Walter). Lola had 8 great-grandchildren: Janisse, Gianna, Gabriel, Katherine, Andrew, Adrian Jr., Adalina, and Cruz.
Lola was the center of our family, the glue that held us together. As we come together and try to figure out how to move forward without our beloved Lola, we as a family find comfort and have peace knowing that Lola is no longer in pain and has been reunited with her soulmate, Ciso, her mother, and her sister and best friend, Chonita.
Our dearest Lola, we give thanks that we were blessed with you for so many beautiful years. We are relieved that you are restored and whole again and living in peace with our Lord God.
Although a piece of us has been missing since you left us, you will forever be in our hearts. Just as you always told us,
Dios Te Bendiga, Lola
We Love You
