Dolores V Huerta

Dolores V. Huerta, 91,born on April 19th 1916 passed away December 8, 2007. Preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Huerta Sr., and parents, Josefa and Vicente Valverde. Ms. Huerta was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from her beloved Bowie Class of 1936 Golden Bear. Ms. Huerta owned her business “Central New-Stand” and later opened a recording studio along with her husband at 316 S. Oregon. Ms. Huerta was very involved with VISA-Volunteer in School Affairs by YISD and Ramona Elementary School. She received recognition of her volunteer work at Ramona Elementary. She is survived by her daughter; Sylvia Huerta and grandson; Robert Rodriguez, Jr., son; Ramon Huerta Jr. and wife,Eva, grandchildren; Ramon Huerta III, Vince, Laura, David and Dan Huerta, great-grandchildren; Ray Huerta IV, Amanda, Briannaand Zara Huerta, cousins; Aurora and Sergio Gutierrez, nephews; Javier and Marcia Valenzuela, nieces; Elizabeth, Isela, Rosa and Patrick Goodrum and Araceli and Daniel Lopez. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Thursday, December 13, 2007 with a Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 pm Friday, December 14, 2007 at San Antonio Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ramon Huerta Jr., Ray Huerta III, Vince, David and Dan Huerta, Robert Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Javier Valenzuela, Sergio Gutierrez and Robert Rodriguez Jr. We thank god for the following; Dr. Marilyn Julian, Dr. Emilo Gonzalez, Dr. Ahmed, the staff at Del Sol ER, Cardiac, Paramedics and ICU nurses for making the transitioning a smooth one,La Familia Home Health, Physicians Hospital, Elena Pino, Mitch Watts and ER Dept., East Manager Manny Miranda and Nursing Unit Team for excellent care, Major Medical, Medcast and Guardian Angel Pharmacy.
