Dixie L. Bellows

Dixie Bellows, 69 was welcomed into Heaven on August 17, 2023. Dixie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She fell in love with her husband while she was a director of youth ministries in McAllen, Texas.

She married her love on August 14, 1976 and celebrated 47 years of marriage last week. She was a pastor’s wife of 20 years. Dixie was a tremendously talented musician. She loved to sing, and play guitar. She wrote and composed songs that are copyrighted. She also played handbells, and directed handbell choirs in church. She enjoyed spreading her joy of music through singing at church and shared it by directing children and youth choirs. 

She found her passion in teaching, and taught high school social studies. After 20 years of teaching thousands of students Dixie retired from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas. She missed working with the students and sharing her passion for history.

Dixie is survived by her beloved husband and soul-mate Robert Bellows, daughter Sandra Fusco & Sean; daughter Bridgette Finch, and daughter Tina Bellows, and grandchildren Jason Rice, Caleb Finch, Melissa Finch, and MJ Bellows.

Dixie’s family would like to invite you to join in a celebration of her life on August 26, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, TX 79904.  The gathering of celebration will be from 9:30am to 11:30am with a Memorial Service at 10:30am.
