Deseriann Shantell Strayhorn

Deseriann Shantell Strayhorn, 22, passed away on October 28, 2011 from complications from sickle cell anemia. She is preceded in death by her father, Howlett Wayne Strayhorn. She is survived by her mother Monique, brother DeJon and sister Destiny. Deseriann was born to Howlett and Monique Strayhorn on July 11, 1989 in Fort Stewart, Georgia. She attended Franklin High School and graduated in 2009 after which she briefly attended EPCC. She was President of the Young Adult Ministry at Word of Life Ministries COGIC where she also loved to perform liturgical and praise dance. Deseriann desired to become a pediatrician and in doing so, hoped to help find a cure for sickle cell disease. Her efforts are not forgotten and will be carried out through www.deseriann.com and www.sicklecellelpaso.org. Visitation: 6:30pm – 8:00pm Thursday, November 3rd at Word of Life Ministries, 9925 Alcan Street; Funeral Mass: 8:30am Friday, November 4, 2011 at Center Chapel One, Fort Bliss Texas; Interment to follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery at 10:30am.
