Derald Melvin Stange

Derald M. Stange, 59 yrs, born, Nov. 4, 1951, husband, father and grandfather passed away after a brief illness on August 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Stange. Derald is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lorraine; his children: Ashley, Erik, and Ian Stange; two grandchildren, Sebastian Stange and Brooklyn Myers, all of El Paso; his mother, Arlene Stange; his sister, Diane Schmotzer and her husband, Reid all of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. He attended school in Paynesville, MN. He retired from the Army in 1992 after proudly serving his country for 22 years, working with the JAG Corps. He was employed at WBAMC since 1993, also working with JAG, and was an active member of the Boys Scouts of America since 1993. We would like to extend a heartfelt Thank you to Dr. Cole and his doctor staff and nursing staff in the ICU at WBAMC for the excellent and compassionate care during his illness. Their professionalism will never be forgotten. Also Thank you to the staff of the WBAMC JAG office for their help and guidance. A Committal Service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors will be scheduled and announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
