Delma B. Valtier

May 23, 1933 — February 20, 2025

El Paso

Our Matriarch Delma Baeza Valtier was called home on Thursday February 20, 2025 at the tender age of 91.

She was born on May 23, 1933 in Presidio, Texas. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She proudly served the city of El Paso as a librarian under the Main, Armijo, Westside and Memorial branches, spearheading programs like The Summer Reading Club. After her retirement in 1998, Mom enjoyed congregating at the Memorial Senior Citizen’s Center and being a part of The Red Hat Ladies.

Throughout her life she was a devout practicing Catholic and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

She is now resting and at peace in the presence of our Lord and her loving parents, Prospero and Bernarda Baeza who preceded her passing.

In life, she was most devoted to her family. She is survived by her four children and their spouses Andy and Vangie Valtier, Cindi and Robert Jurado (preceded in death), Rick Valtier and Rosa Sanchez, Louie and Terri Valtier; her nine grandchildren and their spouses Joel and Aaron Valtier, Jaime and Priscilla Jurado, Anthony and Thalia Jurado, Nik and Yuli Jurado, Joseph, Bear, Jackie-O, Sophia Valtier and Josh Servantez; her ten great-grandchildren Emmanuel Perez, Bam and Vinny Jurado, Isaac, Nikki and Max Jurado, Yuli and Joey Valtier, Iyla Valtier, and CJ Kratz; her two great-great grandchildren Ellie Kay Perez and Isabella “Bells” Jurado, her two faithful siblings Daniel Baeza and Delia Martinez. We are especially grateful to Melinda Martinez, Debbie Giles, and Alyssa Jefsejeff for their unwavering love and support of our Mom. There are countless other family and friends whom she loved and nurtured and we will all miss her immensely. Thank you Mom for being our rock and the heart and soul of our family. We were blessed by your strong and loving influence and guidance. Until we meet again, we will strive to make you proud.
