David Sosa

David Sosa, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 26, 2018. David was born on February 4, 1932 in El Valle de Allende, Durango, Mexico to Maria del Rayo Maldonado Carrasco and David Sosa de la Olla. David was a hard-working, family man who was the core of his family in which we found peace. His character was always calm, soul very sensitive, and mind wise. He didn’t need to teach or speak to us about God because his love and patience showed us that God existed. He loved unconditionally and forgave wholeheartedly. We all have our own special memories of him and own unique relationships. He was an avid baseball and boxing fan who loved ice cream (vanilla), his morning papas as well as sharing stories of his upbringing and John Wayne. David was well known amongst the community for his generosity and warm welcomes. He had a heart big enough to share his love and affection to every one of his 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and could tell you each of their names without skipping a beat. David is survived by his children: Alicia (Raul) Quintana, Luis Armando (Sandra) Sosa, Leticia (Michael Moon) Sosa, Irma Sosa, Christina Sosa, Julia (Scott) Heck, David Sosa, Sara Sosa, and Daniel Rascon. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Angela Sosa, son Ernesto Rascon, and loyal cat Charm. A Visitation will be held from 4-9pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Willimatte. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery-East.
