David Lee DeMerchant III

SSG David "Dave" Lee DeMerchant III, born at Hartford CT, passed away at the age of 37 on March 12th 2024 in El Paso TX.

He was a beloved husband, son, brother, and kitty daddy.

Dave married his Israeli girlfriend on March 13th 2023 in Fort Hood TX, and cherished his Jewish faith.

Dave was known for his sense of humor and love for his cats.

He enlisted at 18, completed 3 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, and had a deep connection and love for the Army.

Dave will be remembered for his dedication to his country and his unwavering love for his family and feline companions.

Dave is survived by his wife Haddar DeMerchant, his mother Debra Bruce DeMerchant, and his sister Raven DeMerchant.

He was preceded in death by his father David Lee DeMerchant II.

In addition to his military service Dave enjoyed hobbies such as hiking, working out, gaming, and spending time with his beloved kitties.

He found solace in worshiping at Chapel 3 Fort Bliss, where he had comfort and community.

Dave's passing is a loss felt deeply by those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

A funeral service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on March 28th 2024 at 13:00, followed by a Unit Memorial at Fort Bliss at 15:30.
