David Burke Beall

David Burke Beall, Burke went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, October 31, 2011. He was born in San Angelo, TX October 3, 1931 to Oren Homer and Eunice Cypert Beall. Burke graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, TX and then attended the University of Texas at El Paso. Mr. Beall served in the United States Navy for four years in the Engineering Corp during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He then worked as an industrial engineer in production control for Billy the Kid-Hortex Manufacturing Company for the majority of his career. He then was the director at the Chamber of Commerce for the El Paso Council for the International Visitors, demonstrating his love for El Paso and the international community, and ending his career at Burlington. In retirement, his dearest love was the building projects of the 1st Baptist Church and Casas por Cristo in Mexico. He adored nature, was an avid bird watcher, and loved to travel. Burke was dedicated to helping those in need and remained active in all phases of El Paso’s community life. He enthusiastically supported all of his family’s pursuits and was active as a mentor in the Explorers and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Beall was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lura Burson. Burke is survived by his beloved wife of almost 47 years Jimmie Faye Beall; son James Maxwell Beall (Becky); sister Bennie Jean Wigon and husband Sidney; step grandchildren Angela, Jessica and Brandy; nieces Diana Waggoner and husband Lanny, Debbie Wigon and Beverly Eggert and husband Allen; nephews David and Daniel Wigon; grand nieces Karen and Linda Eggert and Susan Lybert and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 6:30 pm to 9 pm, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Celebration of life service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery with Chris Monk, Charles Horack, Paul Ford, Jeff Huff, Patrick Tuttle and Allen Eggert serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Edens, David Foster, Richard Thurman, Bill Grant, Mel Lyons, Gonzalo Garcia, Charlie Capehart, Jim Pierce and Clinton Dean. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Community Foundation of El Paso, 123 W. Mills, El Paso, TX 79901 or to the the El Paso Council for the International Visitors, 1155 Westmoreland, El Paso, TX 79925.
