Ed, as his family called him, was born November 19, 1934 in Dickinson, North Dakota. He spent the majority of his childhood in the Great Plains of North Dakota and Montana. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1953. Following graduation, he joined the Army. His career took him to overseas assignments in Viet Nam, Korea and Panama. He married Joyce Lange in 1959 in Bismarck, ND. After assignments in Kansas, Louisiana, Washington DC and Ft. Bliss, Ed and Joyce settled in El Paso where he retired with 26 years of service in 1976. Ed worked at White Sands Missile Range as an Army Civilian until he retired in 1996. He has been an enthusiastic member of the El Paso Radio Controllers Club where he was known as one of the clubs best builders. Ed is survived by his wife, Joyce, one sister, Pam Buelow; three daughters, Deborah, Jolene and Cristy, three grandsons and one great grandson. His son, Timothy, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the El Paso Humane Society. A Committal Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
