Darcella Marie Isadore was born December 24, 1933 in Grapeland, TX to John Wesley Isadore and Rose Ella Mask. She came to the El Paso area as a child and united with the Church. Darcella soon developed a love for the Lord and was baptized at an early age. A tireless worker for the Lord, she was a former member of numerous churches here in the El Paso area; to include Unity Missionary Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and Holy Light Church of God in Christ. She was ordained as a minister by the late Dr. H.B. Johnson Sr. of the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Darcella truly enjoyed her work and any endeavor that she undertook she was willing to put her body and soul into it. In addition to her employment as a licensed vocational nurse, she worked in many areas diligently to spread the good news about Jesus the Christ. She held the office of colonel in the Salvation Army where she gave of herself to the utmost. In the city of El Paso she could be found working with the Green Tree Ministry which provided services for the needy and homeless. As a church member she served in mission departments, trustee boards, as a finance officer, food coordinator, minister, and any other place she could be of help. On December 19, 2007 in Jackson, MS, Darcella was called to glory and eternal rest. Truly she must have heard her Savior say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” She is survived by four sisters, Jett of Compton, CA; Birla D.
