Daniel Edwardo Yañez, Sr., 56 passed away on March 26, 2008. He was born February 9, 1952 and was a life long resident of El Paso, TX. A man who was loved by everyone that he came across. Daniel was a person that everyone loved, and he loved everyone. A man who loved to make you laugh. He was born in San Bernardino, California. Daniel served in the US Army, while on active duty he was with the 11th Army Calvary Regiment in Fulda Germany. He loved his country and fulfilled his military career for 27 years in the 1st Battalion 133rd Field Artillery Unit of the Texas National Guard. Daniel went to go meet all his loved ones in heaven in spirit with Jesus the Christ. Daniel is survived by his wife of 26 years Yvonne Irma Yañez. Children Daniel Edwardo Yañez, Jr. (wife, Marie), Virginia Yañez-Nash (husband, Kedren), Gabriel Manny Yañez, & Eric Eli Yañez. He is also missed by five beautiful grandchildren, Kenneth Freeman, Jr., Xavien Drey Yañez, Ezekiel McLaughlin, Destiny Alize Yañez, & Noah Lazarus Nash. He is preceded by his siblings Raul Yañez, Jr., Henry Yañez, Joe Patrick Yañez, & Richard Ignacio Yañez. Daniel loved being outside reading and watering the grass, conversing with everyone that came along. Daniel enjoyed playing flag football every Sunday. Daniel loved being around family and friends always surrounding himself with his children and friends. Daniel loved trying to make everyone feel comforted at all times. A smile from him was the first thing you saw. A wonderful father who loved his children with all his heart and would always try to show it through his actions and personality. He will be remembered everyday and will always be shown in a wonderful light. Beloved father, grandfather, godfather, brother, and uncle. Because of Daniel many people will appreciate the beauty in life and draw closer to the love of GOD. A beautiful soul that will continue living in heaven and praising GOD. Dad’s humor and essence will be cherished forever and ever. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm, and rosary/vigil at 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass at 9:30 am, on Monday, March 31, 208 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow with full military honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
