Army CPL Tony Carrasco, Jr., 25 born February 11, 1984 in Las Cruces, NM to Antonio and Juana Carrasco. Tony’s life was cut short while on deployment in Iraq, he was killed on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 by a sniper. Tony enlisted with the U.S. Army in January 2008 to serve his country, and he was currently stationed in Ft. Riley, KS. Tony was a 2003 graduate of Gadsden High School. Tony was a caring and loving young man with a heart as big as the world and a big smile to match. He was a loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend, always with a helping hand. He was protective of his family and by joining the military he was also protective of his country. Survivors include his parents Antonio and Juana Carrasco, wife Johana Carrasco, sisters Rosie Carrasco (Raymond Flores), Susana Carrasco (Adrian Cardona), Jessica Carrasco (Steven Lopez); his stepdaughter Ilse and stepson Axel and unborn child, his nephew Raymond Flores, Jr. and niece Kayla Flores; uncles, aunts, and cousins as well as many friends. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Iglesia Jesucristo Apostolica in Berino, NM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Iglesia Jesucristo Apostolica. Pallbearers will be members of Tony’s family and Ft. Bliss Military Honors Detail.
