Coty Avedician 1954-2012 Beloved (Coty Avedician) daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend will have visitation services on Sunday Jan. 22 at Sunset Funeral Home West from 5-7 pm with a rosary at 6:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday Jan. 23 at St. Jude Catholic Church at 11:30 am. Burial: Memory Gardens She is survived by her husband Ray Maldonado, 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 siblings and her parents Juan and Victoria Avedician. She was a precious gift and we were all fortunate to have had the opportunity to have her in our lives. She will be missed and loved forever and ever, amen. She was a life long educator that held a Bachelors and a Masters degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. She had a passion for teaching young children, especially providing for at risk kids. She was a fervent advocate of breast cancer research and a stern supporter of other cancer survivors and she fought a gallant battle for over 11 years. Her selfless sacrifice as a research patient trailblazer advancements in the future treatment and ultimate cure of this dreaded disease. We want to thank all the doctors, caregivers and Hospice of El Paso that provided excellent care. Coty was passionate about assisting others in need, so we ask in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation at www.rgcf.org
