Arellano
Corina Holguin Arellano, called back to our Lord on Friday May 14th, 2021 at the age of 92. Resident of El Paso, TX. Devout Catholic, endlessly forgiving Mother and Grandmother; loved the Dallas Cowboys, her family and above all Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Not a day went by that she did not pray for her entire family, she loved and cared more for her family than anyone ever will. Born in 1929 to Roman and Genoveva Holguin, Corina was the last of her siblings to pass away. She had one older brother, Santiago Holguin and two younger sisters, Alicia Santana and Maria Porras. Corina and her sister Alicia were each other's shadow for years; an almost inseparable pair they traveled up and down California and Mexico together, sometimes with the church and sometimes with other friends a family. Corina joined the Ijas de Maria with her sister and having very strong feelings about her faith seriously considered joining the vocation, very nearly becoming a nun. She lived in El Paso her entire life in the family home with her brother and sisters until her daughter Sally invited her to come and live with her as Sally started her own family. Together Corina and Sally, along with her son-in-law and two grandchildren, traveled across the country and across the Pacific Ocean seeing places and people they never imagined. Corina H. Arellano is survived by her daughter Sally R. Gonzalez, Son-in-law Francisco E. Gonzalez, granddaughter Adryen J. Gonzalez and her husband Ed R. Gutierrez, grandson Jesse R. Gonzalez, nephews Eddie Holguin Sr., Oscar Holguin, Mark Porras, and nieces Ana Porras, Lisa Porras and Grace Fierro. Corina lived a long full life praying and traveling with her family who loves her dearly.
