Cordell C. Peterson

Cordell (Pete) Peterson passed away peacefully on October 31, 2012 at age 72. He was born April 28, 1940 in Fargo, North Dakota. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. From 1962-1967 he served with US Army in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star. After returning from Vietnam he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 37 years. Upon his retirement he moved to Sicily, Italy and later to El Paso, Texas. Cordell was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a mechanical ace who could build or repair anything. His easy smile, sense of humor and kind loving heart will be missed. Survived by wife, Nancy Peterson; sons: Michael Peterson, Eric Peterson, Christian Peterson and wife Wendy Peterson of Hay Market, Virginia. Brothers: Andrew Peterson and wife, Myrene Peterson; Deleno Peterson and wife, Beverly Peterson of Fargo, North Dakota area. Four grandchildren: Samuel, Christian, Luke, Biagio and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 10, 2012 at 10:30 am at Sunset Funeral Home-East.Final resting place Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
