Connie Duran, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and will be greatly missed. Connie is preceded in death by her parents; Rafael Chavira and Adela A. Chavira; her loving husband; Luis M. Duran; her son; Roberto Javier Duran; her sister Romelia Martin; her brothers; Bernabe Chavira and Alejandro Chavira, her sister-in-law; Flora Chavira and Petra Chavira; and her son-in-law; John Lewis. She is survived by her dearest children; Joe Louis Duran (Janie), Vangie Lewis, Henry Duran (Celia), Jaime Duran (Carmen), Ronnie Duran (Maria), Alex Duran and Michael Duran (Veronica); her siblings; Robert Chavira and Carmen Torres (Seve); her daughter-in-law; Mary Helen Duran; and her 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor her memory.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, March 04, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- West with a Rosary to commence at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 05, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church followed by a Graveside Service at 11:30 am at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery. Those who cannot attend in person may join the funeral and memorial services virtually on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhome/ (no account is needed).
