Concepcion Montes

Maria Concepcion Montes, 92, passed away after an illness on March 8, 2017. Born on December 12, 1924, she lived a long, unselfish life, always caring about everyone else first before herself. She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and was a proud US citizen for the past 30 years. Residing in El Paso most of her life, she worked for Mountain Pass Canning Company, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a dedicated homemaker and accomplished cook, whose meals were loved by everyone. She was devoted to her family, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who loved her beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon A Montes, her parents Aurelio and Transito Herrera, and her sisters and brother. She is survived by her sons: Raymundo (Linda), Mario, Eduardo (Barbara) Montes; and daughters Raquel Reynoso, Irma Montes-Gomez (Luciano); grandchildren, Jennifer Montes, Stefanie Rivera (David), Erica Montes Scott (Nicholas), Lauren and Ariele Montes, Bianca Reynoso (James Woodcox), Monique Reynoso, and Matthew Montes. Great-grandchildren: Michael Julian Reynoso, Joel Woodcox, Anthony Jayden, Enoch Montes, David Martinez, Nathan and Caleb Rivera, Leonel and Ramiro Scott. She will be greatly missed by family, extended family, and friends. Special thanks to Jesus A. Gomez, MD for his excellent care of our beloved mother. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home – Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 4800 Byron St. at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Committal Service will be on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:30a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
