DOMINGUEZ El Paso – Entered into rest, Concepcion Dominguez, Sr. Monday October 22, 2007 at 98 years of age at his home. He is at peace and leaves his wife here on Earth, Manuela Dominguez, after 62 years of marriage and awaits us with the Lord in the bright heavens above. Words alone cannot describe the loving years, hard work, strength, dedication and perseverance Concepcion bestowed upon his family, friends and loved ones. He was a husband, patriarch, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Born December 8, 1908 in Mexico, he grew up and lived most of his working life in El Paso, Texas. He started working at the young age of 16 for PFE Railroad and through hard work and loyalty he retired as head foreman in 1977. His employees included former federal judges and prominent El Paso attorneys. He was a very hard worker, active craftsmen, enjoyed working on cars, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Skilled, strong, determined and artistic as he was, he built his own home in 1952, which is enjoyed by his loving family year round as a place of traditional and holiday gatherings. A very selfless, honest and humble man, he was most proud of his family’s successes and accomplishments. Education and self-reliability were important to him. He has a very large, loving and warm family. He was always there to lend a helping hand; he never said “no” to a good cause. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Surviving are: his loving wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, Manuela Dominguez; his sons, Concepcion Dominguez, Jr., Benny Dominguez and his daughters, Martha Dominguez, Esperanza Hernandez, Rita Villalobos and Lucy Dominguez; grandchildren: Deborah Powers, Monica Dominguez, Suzanne Ortiz, Melissa Villalobos, Lisa Solomon, Michelle Dominguez, Ruth Pettit, Michael Hernandez, Phillip Dominguez, David Villalobos Jr., Jonathon Villalobos, Angela Villalobos, Christina Dominguez, Bobby Dominguez; great-grandchildren: Stephen Ortiz, Matthew Vasquez, Amanda Martinez, Alyssa Ortiz, Andrew Martinez, Brandyn Pettit, Jasmine & Phillip Powers and Frederick Solomon, III.
Visitation and rosary services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home East, Wednesday, October 24th, from 5–9 pm, church services at San Antonio Church, Thursday, October 25th (time pending). followed by peace and burial services at Evergreen East Cemetery.
