Clyde Ingram was born to Lena and Will Ingram on December 25, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama. He joined the United States Army as a young teenager and served his country for 27 years. Clyde was stationed in many places including Fort Bliss where he retired in 1972. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War. While stationed at Fort Bliss, he decided to make El Paso his home. It was during that time that he married Mildred (deceased) and helped her to raise five children, Clifton, Marvin, Alvin, Clara, and Carolyn.
Clyde relocated to Saudi Arabia in 1978 where he lived and worked for 21 years. He met and married his wife of 31 years, Ana, who preceded him in death. He leaves behind two devoted daughters, Sarah Ann and Hanna Mae. While in Saudi Arabia, Clyde converted to Islam. After retiring once again, he returned to El Paso with Ana and their children. Clyde was always active in social affairs. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and active in the Islamic Center of El Paso.
He was committed to all of his children and strived to remain a presence in their lives. In addition to Sarah and Hanna, Clyde leaves to cherish his memory, his oldest children Ann (Georgia) and Clyde Jr.(Michigan), Monica (Florida), Karl (California), Victor (Florida), Linda (Alabama), and Cedric (El Paso).
Clyde was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Will and his sisters Mary and Seffie. He leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous life-long friends that will miss him dearly.
