Christopher Cleland Farver, age 55, passed away peacefully at home in El Paso, Texas on November 7th, 2023.
Chris was born on November 21, 1967 and was raised in Woodburn, Indiana. A 1986 graduate of Woodlan high school, Chris joined the family business at an early age and it was there he dedicated his whole career. It was Chris’s commitment to the company and adventurous spirit that prompted his move to El Paso in 1998. There he met his loving wife of 20 years. Together Chris and Gabriela raised their 2 wonderful children Austin and Sydney.
Chris loved anything that had an engine. One of his many passions was racing. Starting with BMX when he was young then becoming a professional snowmobile racer. He worked tirelessly to make his engines the fastest he could. He loved muscle cars. Growing up, he regularly went to the Indianapolis 500 and didn’t miss the race each year. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, traveling with his father to many wonderful destinations. He fell in love with the desert southwest and embraced his life in El Paso.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Jane Ellen Farver, his grandparents; Cleland (Shorty) and Lula Faye Farver, and Walter and Marguerite Bremer. He is survived by his wife; Gabriela Farver and his beloved children; Austin Cleland Farver and Sydney Jane Farver. Loving son of Rex Cleland Farver and cherished brother of Michelle Rumpz, Brother-in-law; John Rumpz, niece; Caroline Rumpz and nephew; Matthew Rumpz.
Chris’s greatest love was his many friends and family. His fierce loyalty and commitment to the people he loved was his greatest strength. He has so many beloved friends in both Indiana and El Paso. He will be missed by so many.
A Memorial Service will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023 with a Eulogy Service to commence at 3:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West.
