It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christine Lucille McIntosh of El Paso, TX on April 4, 2023 at the age of 92 years.
Christine was born on December 20, 1930 in Floresville, TX. For over 17 years she worked as a bus driver for the students on base at Ft. Campbell, TN. Nano, as affectionately known by her loved ones, will be remembered for her love of farm life, her devotion to her family, and her overall toughness. There is, and only ever will be, one Grambo.
Christine is survived by her two loving daughters, Peggy Schmiedlin Sullivan (Chuck Sullivan) and Susan Schmiedlin Schurtz (Jack Schurtz), three granddaughters, Aleia Schurtz, Sara Schurtz Gonzalez (Francisco Gonzalez) and Carrie Kaparoff (Kirk Kaparoff) and five great grandchildren, Santiago Gonzalez, Magnus Stahl, Yaya Gonzalez, Cayden Kaparoff and Kynleigh Kaparoff. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Rolf Werner Schmiedlin and her second husband, Earl McIntosh and his son Jimmy McIntosh. She is also survived by Earl’s children, Trudy Lee Shirah, Patty Hickman, three grandsons, and nine great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Monday, April 17, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes – East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79915. Her ashes will be interred at a later date at Ft. Bliss Cemetery.
