Christiane Anne Petrin

CHRISTIANE A. PETRIN, 85 Christiane Petrin passed away on August 4th, 2016 in El Paso, TX. She was born in Bordeaux, France September 19th, 1930 to Henri and Marie Louise Forgeront. Christiane attended school in Bordeaux, France and became a professional seamstress and tailor. In 1952, Christiane met her future husband, Philip Petrin. For 27 years, Christiane was an exemplary Army wife, traveling and moving to different countries. She worked and retired from JC Penney after 27 years of dedicated service. Christiane had many friends from many venues: the YMCA, the Garden Club, JC Penney, PointCourt; St. Michael Catholic Church, and the NCO wives’ Club. Christiane’s greatest passion was her love of gardening and was a long-time member of the Weldon Yerby Senior Garden Club where she was often referred to as “the Squash Lady.” Among her many talents, Christiane was an amazing cook with a flair for French cuisine. She loved to entertain and going out with her friends. Her beautiful smile lit up any room she entered. Christiane was predeceased by husband, Philip and parents. Christiane is survived by sister, Giselle Bianchi, brother, Jean-Claude Forgeront (Rollande), daughters Catherine Williams (Terry), Caroline Petrin, grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Stephanie Williams, Elizabeth Maurer (Kyle), TJ Williams, great-grand child, Nathaniel Christian Maurer, nieces and friends. Christiane leaves behind her beloved dog, Toby. A Celebration of Christiane’s life will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, September 19th, 2016, Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr., El Paso, TX 79904. A mass will be held at 1:00 pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, FT. Bliss, internment at 2:30 pm at FT. Bliss Cemetery. Special thanks to all who visited and helped care for her during her brief illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Animal Rescue League of El Paso.
