Chellie S. Hoover

Chellie S. Hoover, age 62, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Chellie is preceded in death by her father, Gordon Stevens. She is survived by her mother, Armida Stevens; her sons, Matthew Joseph Hoover (Megan) and Jacob Gordon Hoover; her brothers, James Montague Stevens and G. Cameron Stevens; and several nieces and nephews who adored her.

Chellie was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1961. She attended Coronado High School where she was on the cheerleading squad and graduated in 1979. She then attended Texas Tech University where she joined Kappa Alpha Theta and graduated with a BBA in Marketing in 1983. She ventured into the exciting world of commercial real estate appraisal and received her MAI designation in 1994. She valued the many friendships that she made over the course of her career. Chellie also held several offices as a member of the Appraisal Institute, both locally and nationally. In El Paso, she was an active member of the Junior League where she was recently voted Sustainer of the Year. One of her greatest joys was being a member of the Good Time Singers, where she performed for senior citizens to brighten their day. She was also a member of El Dedon Verde Garden Club and the Pan American Roundtable Society. Chellie loved to give back, cheer on her several sports teams, and had a unique way of connecting with people. She will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers include Matt Hoover, Monty Stevens, Cameron Stevens, Jordan Stevens, Justin Stevens, and Stephen Freyermuth.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023, with a Eulogy to commence at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. A Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:30 am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 pm at Queen of Peace Catholic Church; 1551 Belvidere St, El Paso, TX 79912. A reception will follow at Coronado Country Club shortly following the Funeral Mass.
