Charlie V. Tarango,

April 21, 1923 — September 28, 2007

Charlie V. Tarango, Jr., beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away on September 29, 2007, at the age of 84. He was born April 21, 1923 to Virginia and Charlie V. Tarango, Sr. in Marfa, Texas. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served as Seaman FirstClass from 1943-1946, when he received an honorable discharge. Upon his return, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in 1952 with a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy. Mr. Tarango married Maria Estela Delgado of El Paso, Texas, on November 30, 1951, and moved here after his graduation. He was a member of the El Paso Pharmaceutical ASsociation for 55 years, the West Texas Pharmaceutical Association and the El Paso Border Chorders for 29 years. He spent his last five years serving at Hospice of El Paso. Mr. Tarango was a loving father to four daughters, Norma Tarango, Beatrice Schooley, Patricia Gomez and Elaine Tarango, and would have celebrated 56 years of marriage this November. Along with his wife and daughters, he is survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his brother, Edward Tarango. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Lorina Miller, and younger brother, Oscar Tarango. He will be alive in our hearts forever. Interment and Memorial Graveside services will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007 with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the El Paso Diabetic Association in Mr. Tarango's name.
