Charles Hackett Robinson

September 3, 1928 — December 6, 2007

Charles Hackett Robinson, MD, a long time El Paso resident and contributor to the medical resources of the community, passed away on December 6, 2007. Dr. Robinson had practiced medicine in Tennessee, New Mexico, and Texas from 1951 until his retirement in 1990. His practice in El Paso began in 1973 and continued through 1990. A native of Kempville, Tennessee, Dr. Robinson attended undergraduate school at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, followed by medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN, graduating in 1951. During the Korean War, he served as a physician to the US Navy and Marines in Korea with the 1st Marine Division. He was a member of El Paso VFW Post 9173. Dr. Robinson is survived by his wife Lou Ann of El Paso; two sons: Charles H. Robinson Jr, and wife Barbara, of Dallas, TX, and Kirk Ward Robinson of Houston, TX; three daughters: Rene' Robinson Martin, and husband Patrick, of Raleigh, NC, Charlyne Savage of Nashville, TN, and Jeannette Robinson of El Paso, TX; one sister: Wilmadene Savage of Nashville, TN; and ten grandchildren. The family will receive friends and acquaintances at the Sunset Funeral Home West on Resler Rd in El Paso from 2 to 5 pm Saturday, December 8. Burial and graveside service will take place at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery on Monday, December 10, 2007.
