Celia (Sally) Montes Vanover
September 10, 1937, to May 16, 2022 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Celia (Sally) Montes Vanover on Monday, May 16, 2022, in El Paso, Texas after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David Jones, EI Paso, Texas, her children Malvin Vanover, Jr., Carlos Vanover, and Carmen Vanover from WinstonSalem, North Carolina, Nancy Novella Ewing from Evarts, Kentucky and her grandchildren Kala Ewing, Trevor Ewing, and Joshua Vanover. Sally is also survived by her siblings Julie Aguirre Valles, Fred Aguirre, James Aguirre, and Corina Aguirre from EI Paso, Texas, Yolanda A. Gonzalez from Austin, Texas, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sally is predeceased by her former husband Malvin Vanover, Sr., mother Concepcion Montes Holguin, stepfather Alfonso C. Holguin, sister Olga L. Clayton, brother Agustin (Kiko) Aguirre, nieces Sylvia Valles Valdez and Isela Aguirre, and grandsons Jefferson Mitchell Burkhart, and Timothy Vanover.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary 6:00pm on Thursday, June 02, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass, EI Paso, Texas. A Chapel Service to begin at 12:00pm on Friday, June 03, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
