Celia Olivas

Celia Olivas went home to our Lord on Dec. 31, 2006, after a lengthy illness at the age of 68. She was a wonderful mother and a very special grandmother. Celia was very kind and compassionate and took great pride in her job as a healthcare provider. She was a hard worker and always set great examples for her children. One of her proudest moments was becoming a United States citizen. She loved working in her garden, taking care of her animals, but really took great pleasure watching her grandchildren grow. She is preceded in death by her husband Andres Olivas, her parents, brothers, and sister. She is survived and greatly missed by her children, Araceli Olivas, Andres Olivas and wife Adriana, Sal and wife Lily, Manny and wife Rosemary, Diana and husband Terry, and Marivel Olivas Urteaga. Her grandchildren Andy III and Adrian Olivas, Joe Jo and Bianca Herbert, Sadie and Sal Jr., Manny Jr. and Christian Mateo, Brittney and Kaitlyn Calhoun, Chastidy and Lucas Urteaga, and her sister Concepcion Diaz. The visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, Friday, January 5, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home-West (480 N. Resler) with a vigil at 7 pm. A mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (602 S. Oregon), Saturday, January 6th at 10:30 A.M. The family would like to thank her physicians who cared for her, Dr. J. Tune, Dr. J.L. Porras, Dr. D. Buchwald, her nurse Delia Huerta, Becky Horowitz from VNA Hospice and her many doctors from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
