Celia Cox, born Celia Elliott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully Friday, September 14, 2012 after a long illness. She was born in San Francisco, November 28, 1928. She was a resident of El Paso since 1950. She loved volunteering and visiting the sick and elderly and had a soft spot in her heart for all animals. She is preceded by her parents Jorge Elliott and Rosario Elliott. Celia is survived by her loving husband Allen Cox Jr. of El Paso; sister, Rose Griffin and her husband Mel Griffin of San Jose, California; and a brother, Jorge Elliott of Guadalajara, Mexico. Surviving children are a son, George Cox of West Richland, Washington; and a daughter, Celia Fatone of El Paso. Other surviving relatives are granddaughter, Celia Cox of Olympia, Washington; grandson, Elliot Cox of Richland, Washington; granddaughter, Rose Martinez and her husband Michael Martinez; and great granddaughter, Ava Martinez, all of El Paso. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., with a Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home East. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at St. Paul Apostle Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home East.
