Cecilia J. Meza

Cecilia (Ceci) J Meza, 85, passed away December 24, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso. Ceci was born on November 21, 1936, to Juan and Mary Jacquez, their only child. Ceci attended Guardian Angel Elementary and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Ceci married Jesus O Meza in April 1956. They had 2 children, Yvette and J.O. Ceci and Jesus (Chuy) later divorced in 1979, but remarried July 1983 but divorced in May 1986. Ceci worked at the Popular department store for many years until they closed their doors in 1995. Ceci then went to business school which was offered to those employees by the Popular owners. Ceci excelled at school and upon completion give or take a few years she went to work for the state of Texas with Texas Tech. She retired in 2014. Ceci loved working, she always gave 100%, she never cut corners. She loved dogs, traveling and country music. Her favorite band was Brooks and Dunn. Ceci is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Mary Jacquez, grandmother Teresa C Urquidi, Aunt Leonor U Carrera, Aunt Lily Rodriguez (Oscar), Aunt Tere Gamboa-Furbush, cousins Ozzie Rodriguez and John Rodriguez, ex-spouse Jesus O Meza. Ceci is survived by her daughter Yvette C Hernandez (Sam), son J.O. Meza Jr, grandchildren Matthew P Hernandez, Ashley Meza and Sara Meza, Aunt Adelina Pacheco (Fred), cousins Tere Becerra (Richard), Bobby Rodriguez, Estella Flores, Fred Pacheco (Birdie), David Pacheco, Lina Gomez (Tony), Albert Pacheco and many friends. She also leaves behind her care workers Luis and Alex Martinez and Mary Lou who loved and cared for her like their own family member. Visitation wil be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Homes-Americas, 9521 N.
