Caroline Brown

Caroline Coles Brown, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on April 8th. She was born in El Paso on August 3rd, 1916 to pioneer El Pasoans John Franklin Coles and Adele Fewel Coles. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Radford School for Girls and graduated from Wellesley College with a B.A. in history. She married Roger Pemberton Brown on February 2nd, 1941. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Junior League of El Paso, Colonial Dames, The Tuesday Book Club, and Las Comadres. Grams, as she was known by her family, was predeceased by her husband Roger, her daughter Adele, and her brother and sister, William Fewel Coles and Katharine Coles Wilcox. She is survived by her children Roger Pemberton Brown, Jr. (Tally), Adin Deering Brown (Rita), Dr. Christopher Coles Brown (Bess), and Chula Brown Marsh (Herb). She is also survived by her 11 beloved grandchildren Carrie Harris (Brad), Katharine Marsh (Troy Nelson), Pemberton Maxwell (Mark), Duncan Brown, Adin Brown, Christopher Brown, Max Brown, Jordan Brown, Francesca Brown, Liam Brown, and Sean Brown, and three great-grandchildren, Willa Nelson, West Harris, and a great-grandson due in August, and her wonderful dog Mike. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
