Carolina Martinez

Carolina Martinez was born July 31, 1924 in Deming, NM. She was born to Pomposo Chavez “Papasito” and Hilaria Lucero “Mamasita”. She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Martinez of 64 years. Carolina is survived by her sons John Peter, Andy, Daniel, daughter Angelica A. Becerra, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was married in 1942 to Juan Martinez and moved to El Paso, Texas in 1951. Mrs. Martinez was a homemaker and known for her great cooking, crocheting and crafts, and her beautiful tender loving qualities. She was also known for telling “jokes” at friend & family gatherings. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and a caring grandmother. The family wishes to thank Bienvivir Senior Health Services at McKinley for their loving care in her final days. Visitation from 5:00-9:00 pm, and Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
