Carmine Robert Amato was born October 26, 1932 in Forest Grove, Oregon and passed away on November 28, 2010 in El Paso, TX. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Frank and Paul Robert Amato, daughters, Vickie Ann and Sandra Lynn Amato, and step son, Michael Anthony Holscher. He served in Korea and had two tours in Vietnam. He retired and earned the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, CIB, Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Air Medal. A loving husband, father, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed. “And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breth from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered” ~Kanlil Gibran, The Prophet~ He will be interred at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
