It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, devoted wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Carmen Moreno on August 1, 2012. Born on July 14, 1929 in El Paso, Texas to Antonio and Agripina Martinez. She is preceded in passing by her loving grandmother Carlota Lozano, parents Antonio and Agripina Martinez, husband Antonio Moreno and granddaughter Veronica Muñoz. She is survived by children Gloria Muñoz, Margie Magallanez, Antonio Moreno, Roberto Moreno, Cecilia Medrano, Ricardo Moreno, Sylvia Moreno and Marta Moreno. 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sisters Isabel Favela, Antonia Acosta, Carlota Madrid and Teresa Hernandez. A life long El Pasoan, devoted to the catholic church, extremely proud Bowie Bear alumni, avid dancer to the Big Band era music, employed at various positions from cashier to sales clerk at Rainbow Bakery, Don Martin Bakery, Big Star, JC Penny, Popular and Kress Department Stores. Proud to have been a volunteer and nurse’s aid at RE Thomason, attended classes at Community College. Visitation will be held Sunday August 05, 2012 from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina, Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 06, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Sacred Heart Church, 602 S. Oregon. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery East at 12400 Montana. Pallbearers will be Antonio Moreno, Roberto Moreno, Ricardo Moreno, Will Moreno, Mathew Montes and George Godinez.
