El Paso – Carlos Salomon Soto Sr., 59, passed away March 8, 2022, with his loving wife of 35 years and his children by his side. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas and graduated from Austin High School. Carlos was employed by the Department of Defense at Ft. Bliss and was a First Sergeant in the Texas State Guard where he served for 15 years. For the last 25 years he volunteered as an instructor for the El Paso Young Marines, serving as the Commanding Officer for the last eight years. He is survived by his wife, Maria Sylvia Soto; son, Carlos Salomon Soto, Jr. (Katrina); daughter, Ruby Mariah Rodriguez (Frank); son, David Ismael Soto (Andrea); son, Rudy Jose Soto. Grandchildren: Jacob, Abriana, Annalysa, David, Eliana, and Evelyn. Mother, Hortencia C. Soto; brother, Guillermo Soto (Guadalupe); brother, Frank Soto (Carmen). He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Soto, and brother, Hugo Soto. Carlos had a strong faith in God, great sense of humor, contagious smile, great dance moves, outgoing personality, compassionate, courageous, strong, and always had a positive outlook on life. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. Pallbearers will be his sons, grandson, and brothers. The visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 5:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 10:00 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 10000 Pheasant Dr.
