Carlos Marquez

Carlos L. Marquez, Sr., born December 1, 1940, was welcomed into the Garden of the Lord on December 7, 2009. He was born in San Ignacio, Chihuahua, Mexico of American- born parents and lived in El Paso since age three. He worked for the El Paso Sanitation Department and Ysleta Independent School District for most of his life.He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Indalecia Marquez, his son Cesar and brothers David and Ruben. He was married to the love of his life, Olga Elena, for thirty five years and leaves behind his children Carlos Marquez, Jr., Israel Marquez (Betty), Margarita Marquez, Yessika Zarazua (Victor), Crystal Marquez and Claudia Marquez. He is survived by brothers Dr. Tony Marquez (Maria), Dr. Ricardo Marquez (Gigi) and sister Juanita Sierra (Rafael). Carlos will be remembered as a kind, light- hearted and hard-working man. He was religious and believed deeply in the Lord Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Funeral Services conducted by Sunset Funeral Home-East with visitation from 4-9 pm and vigil at 7 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2009 and a funeral mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Old Mission on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 9 am. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Tony Marquez, Dr. Ricardo Marquez, Carlos Marquez, Jr., Israel Marquez, Tony Marquez II, and Rafael.
