It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carlos “Charlie” Loweree, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on December 4, 2024, in El Paso, Texas, his lifelong home. Charlie was a shining light to all who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of many.
Charlie’s journey began in the vibrant city of El Paso, where he spent his early years and later returned to build a life filled with love and laughter. He graduated from Ysleta High School, class of 1967, where he was known for his sense of humor and mischievous antics.
In February 1974, on Valentine’s Day, Charlie married the love of his life, Marina Irma. Their marriage spanned an incredible 50 years, during which they created a beautiful family together. Charlie was a devoted husband and an incredible father to his daughters, Diana and Alyssa. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Mikey, Anissa, Aiden, Jillian, and Madison. His family was the center of his universe, and his love for them knew no bounds.
Charlie was not only a family man but also an industrious entrepreneur. He owned Carlos Body Shop for over 40 years, where his hard work and dedication earned him respect and admiration in the community. Beyond his professional achievements, he also had a love for music that brought joy to his life. Charlie was a talented bass musician, performing with many bands such as Players, The El Paso Band, and Soul Sacrifice. His musical talents and infectious laughter made him a cherished presence on and off the stage.
He was a passionate sports enthusiast and an unwavering fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame, often filling the air with his spirited commentary during games. Charlie also found great joy in playing golf with friends and his grandsons, sharing countless memorable moments on the greens.
Those who knew Charlie will remember him for his hilarious jokes and captivating storytelling. He had a unique charm, often seen wearing the same five beloved shirts, which became a distinguishing characteristic of his endearing personality. His ability to light up a room with laughter and warmth will be sorely missed. Though he departed from this world too soon, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of his family and friends.
Charlie leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. His indomitable spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace, dear Charlie. Your presence will be deeply missed but your memory will remain forever cherished.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester Rd., El Paso, TX 79907. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:15 am at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers; Danny Loweree, Edmundo Loweree, Manuel Barajas, Michael Loya, Michael Loya II, Aiden Loya, Jonathan Goodin and Cristian Vega. Honorary Pallbearers; Richard Bolanos and Jay Gardea. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
