Candido Flores Murphy, 91, was called home by our Heavenly Father to rest in eternal peace on December 10, 2006. He is preceded in death by: his loving wife, Agripina V. Murphy; parents, Julian and Francisca F. Murphy; brothers: Manuel, Julian and Raymundo Murphy; and sister, Francisca Hernandez. He is survived by: daughter, Lucy M. and her husband, Jesus Contreras; son, Thomas C. and his wife, Claudia Murphy; grandsons: Art and Jim and his wife, Heather Contreras; granddaughters: Joanne and her husband, Ricardo Saenz, Rebecca and her husband, Frank Zubia, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Isaac Estrada, Joshua and Jessica Saenz, Justin Cedillos, Paul Alanis, Richard, Jacob, Kayla and Taylor Contreras, Isabella and Julian Zubia. Candido was a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him and loved him dearly. Gramps, it’s so hard for us to say good-bye. But we know you are exactly where you wanted to be, right beside Grandma. We will always remember what you taught us. We are thankful for all the wonderful years we shared with you. We are proud of you for the man that you were and so proud of the life that you lived. We love you Gramps! – Your Family. Special thanks from the family are extended to Maria Salazar, Grandpa’s care-giver, who took such gracious care of him for the past four months. May the Lord bless her for her love and kindness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 4 pm to 9 pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast at 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 2709 Alabama Avenue. Internment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 4301 Alameda Avenue. Pallbearers: Art Contreras, Frank Zubia, Jr., Ricardo Saenz, Joshua Saenz, Bobby Murphy, and Alfredo Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers – Jim Contreras and Isaac Estrada.
