Brunson Drury Moore

December 10, 1930 — June 6, 2010

Brunson Drury Moore, beloved husband, father, granddaddy and friend passed away June 6, 2010. I t is with broken hearts that we say good-bye. He will be missed always. Born December 10, 1930 he was one of five children of Kathleen and Victor Moore. He attended Ole Miss and Texas Western College (UTEP). He was a member of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a proud and active member of the El Paso community for 79 years. He served his city and his country with dignity and honor. He served in The United States Army as a Corporal in Korea in 1952 and 1953. Upon his discharge he attended law school at the University of Texas at Austin. He practiced law locally for 53 years in addition to being elected Justice of the Peace and Judge of the 120th District Court, a position he held for 12 years. Always civically minded, he was a member of the El Paso Bar Association, The Texas Bar association, The Downtown Lions Club and The Sunbowl Association to name a few. Brunson Moore was truly one of a kind. He was an avid storyteller with an uncanny ability to enthrall his audience. We will always remember the laughter and joy he inspired. He was passionately devoted to his family and friends. He was extremely blessed in friendship and held many dear lifelong loyal relationships. He used to say, “If you’re my friend, then you’re my friend and nothing else matters.” His family is grateful for his extended family of friends. He loved you all and your stories will continue to be told. To his lunch buddies, thank you for saving his seat. He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Mary Ann Moore with whom we know he is happily reunited. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Monica and Michael Cation, Melissa and Gary Beaty and Corie and Brandon Brashears. Grandchildren Kinsey Leigh and Kimber Lynne Cation, Connor Brunson Beaty and Riley Brin Brashears and brother Victor C. Moore and wife Johnelle. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Homes –West. 480 N. Resler. Mark Alexander, pastor at Western Hills Methodist Church will conduct the service. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
