Bruno A. Macias

October 6, 1920 — February 27, 2008

Bruno A. Macias (Tony), 87 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Macias was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a member of the Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines where he received an Honorable Discharge. He also served in WW II - Mediterranean Middle East War Zone, Pacific War Zone and the Atlantic War Zone. His awards include the Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Good Conduct Medal, and the Merchant Marine Medal. Mr. Macias worked as a Foreman for Ray Ward & Sons Construction Company. He was a Painting Contractor for over 20 years and later he owned his own company, BAMCO (Bruno A. Macias Company). Preceded in death by his mother, Catalina J. Macias, and brother, Jose Macias. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Aida Macias. His children, Lucille Linda Macias-Munoz (Thomas), Rachel F. Palacios (Ricardo III), Cindy Flores (David), Lorraine Huit (Del), Ida Macias-Cruz (Jaime), Bruno Macias, Jr., and Felix Macias (Yvonne). Brother, Luis Macias, and sisters, Frances Vasquez, and Lucy Cano. 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 PM and Vigil/Scripture Service at 7:00 PM, Monday, March 3, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. His grandsons will serve as Pallbearers, Dominic Palacios, Kenny Dominguez, Jacob Huit, Michael Macias, Daniel Flores, Steven Macias, Nicholas Macias, and Andrew J. Cruz. Honorary Pallbearers are, (brother) Luis Macias, (sons-in-law), Thomas Muñoz, Ricardo Palacios III, David Flores, Del Huit, Jaime Cruz, and (nephew), Rick Macias. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
