Booker T Rogers

December 2, 1956 — February 24, 2008

Dr. Booker ‘Terry” Rogers Jr. a son, brother, a friend….a gentle spirit, came into this world as a gift to Booker T. Rogers Sr. (dec) and Bertha Rogers on December 2, 1956. A brother to Climenti Rogers (Deloris) of Houston, Sylvia Anderson of Seattle and Dr. Beverly DeVaughn of Dallas. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas attended Irvin High School, class of ’74. His secondary education included Trinity University where he graduated cum laude and Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He served his country in the USAF as a Major in the medical core. He was former Director of Anesthesiology at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was a teacher, educator, and mentor who enjoyed tennis, all genres of music and a connoisseur of exquisite cuisine. He laughed, he joked and many times he was just silent, and in his silence he spoke volumes. He released his creativity by painting and even teaching himself how to play the piano. We will miss his thought provoking conversations that caused us to grow and see the world in a new and wonderful way. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Jenifer, Jonathan, Acacia, Grace, Bryce, Colin and Pierce and a great uncle to 6 nieces and nephews, in addition to a host of extended family (especially “Aunt” Mary) and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Service will be at 9:30 am on Friday, February 29, 2008 at Center Chapel One. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. As the tides of life change, his footprints will always be in the sand. "Imagine me, finally free." Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
