Bobby . Harper

January 13, 1934 — April 25, 2010

Bob Harper was born January 13, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Jessie Mae and Audie Harper. In October of 1954 he married Deva Ruth Rogers. The two shared 56 years of love and partnership. He adored his family and extended family. He is survived by his cherished wife, three children and their spouses; Robert (Cathy), of Ft. Worth, TX; Teresa (Jochen) of Mesa, WA; Greg (Marcy) of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, John (Brandy), and Catherine of Ft Worth, TX; Cody (Clarissa) and Christopher (JennaBrie) of Spokane, WA; Richard of Mesa, WA; Gregory of Leeds, AL; and Brittany and Brandon of Garland, TX. Recently Bob was gifted with his first Great Grandchild, Zachary of Ft. Worth, TX. He was also looking forward to his second Great Grandchild due in July. For 27 years Bob served honorably in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. This career was followed by twelve years as a field engineer for RCA. He also majored in History at UTEP. Bob loved his friends, extensive travel, GOLF, and by volunteering his time and energy, he managed to help many. He was a Boy Scout and Indian Guides leader as well as a coach for Little League Baseball. He was involved with Lions Club, American Legion, SPBA, as well as Animals West. He loved his ice cream with whipped cream, a good steak, and of course his Peanut Patties. He was blessed with many friends, his, cousins, Bill and Sherry Campbell, Junior and Dorothy Worrell and special friends the Costley family. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 9E, I.C.U. and ER at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He will be greatly missed. Thank you Bob for sharing your life with us. We were truly blessed. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 11:30 am, Monday, May 3, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast with a Funeral Service at 11:30 am. Committal Service will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 3, 2010 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
