Bobby Lee Elliott

February 26, 1939 — December 30, 2024

El Paso

Coach Elliott passed on December 30, 2024. He will be missed by all. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grand father. He worked as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 35 years. Bobby mentored and inspired more students and athletes than can be counted. His only greater love was the love he had for his family. Bobby attended and graduated from Midland High School in 1956. He met the love of his life in high school and married Patsy the year they graduated. He then moved to El Paso, Texas where he attended and graduated from Texas Western College. He then became a teacher and coach. He coached at Irvin and Andress High Schools. Bobby then went to Sul Ross State University where he received his Master’s in Education. Bobby then became the facilitator for Health and Physical Education. He was also in charge of the drug free school’s program. He retired after 35 years to spend time doing what he loved. He golfed, cooked chili, officiated track meets, and spent time with family. Bobby was a member of the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame, the CASI chili organization, the United States Track and Field organization, and officiated at the UIL Track and Field State meet. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Amos and Ruby Swarts Elliott; his loving wife, Patsy Kimball Elliott; his daughters, Pam Kimball and Melinda Lee Elliott; his sisters, Diane, Sandra, and Audrey Elliott. Bobby is survived by his sisters, Jane Ellison (James), Judy Mahaffy, Nancy Reeves (Bill), and Linda Bustilloz (Miguel). His sons, David (Shannon) and Chris (Judi) Elliott; his grandchildren, Matthew (Judy), Jonathan (Melissa), Patrick (Katelyn), Andrew (Mary), Katherine (Gabriel), Nathan, and Jared. His great grandchildren, Bailey Rae, Mason, Jaiden, Everlee, Bryson, Kymball, Elyssa, Clayton, Peyton, Nolan, and Hadley. A memorial for Bobby will be on February 8th at 10 am at Northgate Christian Church, 5430 Yvette Ave, El Paso, TX. 79924.
