Bob Junior Lane, 70, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. Bob was born in El Paso, TX on August 17, 1946. He was an Irvin High School graduate and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as an Army Morse Interceptor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Permilia “Jimmy” Lane and stepmother, Patsy Lane, brother, Danny Lane, first wife, Phyllis Lane, and second wife, Christa Lane. He leaves behind his current wife, Leticia Lane, siblings; David (Susan) Lane, Linda Canfield, Clarann (Corky) Estrada, and Judy Kay (Denny) Soucie, children; Bobby (Victoria) Lane, Tom Arnold, Michele (Tom) White, Robbie (Julie) Lane, Al (Cassie) Sanchez, and Kathryn (Hanii) Sanchez, 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his faithful dog, Uggie.
He worked as a paraprofessional with the El Paso Independent School District, most recently at Magoffin Middle School, and was loved by students and staff. He was an avid reader with a passion for historical novels and enjoyed travelling around the country to visit his family. His love of John Wayne movies was only surpassed by his love of family. Though his family will grieve his loss, his humor, laughter, joy and irreplaceable memories will always remain deep in their hearts.
Visitation: 11:15am with family remembrances at 12noon on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service: 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
