Blas Raul Guerra

Our Beloved father, husband, brother, and grandfather, Blas Raul Guerra, was called to God’s kingdom on October 3, 2011. Raul was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Guerra- Flores. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maria de Jesus; sons, Pablo ( Lupe) Silva, Charlie Guerra, Javier ( Cynthia) Guerra; daughters, Linda Guerra ( Michael), Irene ( Eddie) Silvas, Yolanda Guerra & Liz ( Bobby) Martinez. Raul is also survived by his two sisters, Josefina Almanzar and Juanita Madrid. He will be forever missed by his 25 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Raul was born and raised in San Elizario, Tx. He retired from Ysleta ISD as an electrical journeyman. He loved cooking, singing and playing his guitar, but his real passion was being with his family. The Guerra family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Pebble Creek Nursing Home for their loving attention they provided to our father. God Bless and keep you all. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM-5:30 PM Friday, October 7, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas. A Vigil will be at 7:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2011 at San Elizario Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 9:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2011 at San Elizario Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. U.S. Army Sergeant, Carlos F. Guerra Jr., will read the eulogy. Pallbearers to serve will be, Pablo (Duke) Guerra, Steve R. Guerra, Bobby Martinez, Michael Martinez, Billy J. Silva and Eddie M. Silvas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilbert Jr. and Richard Flores. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
